The UK Hip-Hop Map was started as part of a Masters thesis in 2018 looking at whether it was possible to map hip-hop and rappers in London.

The aim of the map is to chronicle and document rappers across the UK using a map rather than a database to display this. Why a map? Hip-hop is one of the few styles of music where geography plays a key role in identification and representation. References to place have always been in the music, I’ve just chosen to try and visualise them.

This project is a work in progress, so will likely change many times as things move on and ideas develop and is always being added to.
